SEMI-FINALS LINE-UP FOR PHYGITAL BASKETBALL CONFIRMED

21/12/2025

It was a day of epic quarter-finals in the Phygital Basketball.3on3 Freestyle brought to you by M42 competition at ADNEC, Abu Dhabi. Eight clubs were fighting for a place in the semi-finals, and the backboards took a beating as players fought desperately for a spot in the last four. In the end PBC Astana, LIGA PRO TEAM, Adria All Stars and Moscowsky made it through to the final four. Here’s how things shook out.

QF1 – FlashBasket 25:27 PBC Astana

The first game of the day was a close-fought contest that could have gone either way. FlashBasket were ahead 19:14 after the digital round, but PBC Astana scrambled to close the deficit and then edged into the lead. In the last minute FlashBasket had a chance to level but missed two free throws. Astana scored again with 10 seconds to go – and it was all over.

The team from Kazakhstan are through.

QF2 – LIGA PRO TEAM 39:22 Great Team Brazil

Next up were LIGA PRO TEAM (LPT) and Great Team Brazil (GTB). LPT roared into the lead with a score of 19-9 after the digital stage. GTB desperately tried to regain the momentum on the court, but they had left themselves too much to do. Not helped by the fact LPT were constantly slam-dunking at the hoop. LPT hit the golden 39pts with 1:50 left on the clock.

So that’s the first semi-final line-up confirmed. PBC Astana will meet LIGA PRO TEAM tomorrow (December 22) – it promises to be a classic.

QF3 – Adria All Stars 34:21 G-UNIT

Adria All Stars (AAS) came right out of the gate and smashed the digital stage, hitting 19 with nearly 2 mins left on the clock. Playing with only 9 points after the digital stage, G-UNIT (G-U) had left themselves a mountain to climb.

They started the physical stage a lot better, but the AAS didn’t yield, matching them hoop for hoop. In the end, they won both stages and G-U were unable to close the gap despite a much better second half.

Despite the victory, Croatian player Paulo Kuseta is taking each day at a time. “At this stage, we know the opponents are going to get harder and harder, and the games tougher and tougher, so we just have to stay focused and keep playing like this,” he said.

QF4 Moscowsky 39:20 Interstellars

The digital stage started bucket-for-bucket, but Moscowsky (BCM) soon edged ahead and an incredible series of double-pointers saw them reach 19 with plenty of time on the clock. US-based Interstellars (STLR) lagged behind on 11 as both teams took to the court.

From there, the lead slowly opened with BCM dominating, aided by a series of free throws they easily dunked. By halfway through, the lead had grown to 15 points and BCM were cruising. With a minute left they hit the golden 39 and sealed their place in the semis.

That means Moscowsky will meet Adria All Stars in the second semi-final.
