MOBA Mobile.MLBB – ONIC CROWNED CHAMPIONS AS TOURNAMENT CONCLUDES AT GOTF 2025

The MOBA Mobile.MLBB tournament at the Games of the Future Abu Dhabi 2025 powered by ADNOC, came to a thrilling close following a decisive final day of competition, with ONIC being crowned champions.

After an intense and competitive campaign, the final was a fitting end to six days of elite-level play that featured teams from across the international MLBB scene.

An earlier 3rd place play-off between DianFengYaoGuai and Aurora Gaming PH was won by Aurora Gaming PH, 0-2.

The tournament once again highlighted the strategic depth, preparation, and consistency required to succeed on the Games of the
Future 2025 stage. Here’s how all the action played out.

Previously In their semi-final, ONIC had delivered a superb performance, overcoming Aurora Gaming PH with two straight wins, so must have been feeling confident. Aurora Gaming were taken to a third game by DianFengYaoGuai in their semi-final but they utterly controlled that game from the start and weren’t to be underestimated.

With finalists at the peak of their powers, the final was going to be a show-stopper and it didn’t disappoint as ONIC closed out the championship with a decisive showing, overpowering Aurora Gaming across back-to-back games to claim the title at the Games of the Future 2025.

Reflecting on the achievement, Nicky Fernando “Kiboy” Pontonuwu from ONIC said: “I feel really good. Being here in Abu Dhabi, our team has continued to improve. Our gameplay, our hero picks, everything worked well, and I’m happy with how we performed.”

Despite missing out on a place in the final, both these teams had performed extremely well throughout the tournament and their competitive spirit meant both would not be holding back in their effort to place in the top three.

Aurora Gaming PH delivered a commanding performance against DianFengYaoGuai, securing a straight-sets victory and controlling the series from start to finish. The team set the tempo early and never let it slip, consistently outplaying DianFengYaoGuai across key moments. Jan Dominic Iv “DOMENGKITE” Del Mundo from Aurora Gaming PH stood out with an exceptional showing throughout the match, while Dylan Aaron “LIGHT” Catipon’s impact and consistency earned him the MVP honors, underlining Aurora Gaming PH’s control of the series.

With this result, Aurora Gaming PH rounded out the final standings and concluded their tournament on a positive note.
Reflecting on the result, Dylan Aaron “Light” Catipon said: “I’m happy that we were still able to perform despite the obstacles we faced yesterday. At certain moments, I did feel some regret, as there were situations where we could have played better. We could have pushed ourselves into a more challenging final, but still, thank God, we were able to secure another strong placement.”
