AURORA GAMING AND ONIC BOOK THEIR PLACES IN THE FINAL

The stage is set for an epic final showdown in the MOBA Mobile.MLBB grand final tomorrow (December 23) at Games of the Future Abu Dhabi 2025, powered by ADNOC.

On the last day of official competition at this year’s GOTF, Aurora Gaming and ONIC will compete to win the MOBA Mobile.MLBB trophy and be crowned GOTF 2025 champions. It promises to be a showcase of high-level drafting, decisive rotations, and clutch late-game execution.

Both teams truly earned their places in the final with wins in today’s thrilling semi-finals where Aurora Gaming overcame DianFengYaoGuai and ONIC conquered Aurora Gaming PH. Here's how it all went down.

Coming into the semi, DianFengYaoGuai had shown great composure and teamwork under pressure particularly in their quarter-final against RRQ Hoshi. Aurora Gaming had secured their spot with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Verso Time.

With both teams known for disciplined macro play and aggressive team fighting, this semi-final delivered a tense and tactical battle from the opening draft.

Aurora Gaming came out firing in the opening map, setting the pace early and securing a convincing victory over DianFengYaoGuai. The second game followed a similar game plan at the start, with Aurora once again taking early control, but DianFengYaoGuai responded with a strong mid-late game turnaround to claw their way back and take the win. In the decider, Aurora controlled the match from start to finish and closed out the series with authority.

Ze Long “Loong” Tang from DianFengYaoGuai said: “It was a great experience overall and a strong learning opportunity. Competing here highlighted a lot of small but important details, and while it’s difficult to capture everything in words, the experience itself was extremely valuable and will clearly influence how I approach future matches.”

Asked about their hopes and expectations for tomorrow’s final, Mehmet Ibrahim “Lunar” Ilgun said: “We actually played some strong games and managed to secure wins, including the second game as well. At the same time, there were moments where we fell short and did not use our resources as effectively as we should have. Even so, we pushed through and made it to the grand final. Reaching the final at such a major event feels incredible, and we are extremely happy with the result.”

In their quarter-final matches, these two teams had experienced different fortunes. ONIC had endured a real battle to edge past Team Falcons 2–1, while Aurora Gaming PH sailed through with a convincing 2–0 win against Team Spirit. On paper, Aurora Gaming PH should have been fresher and more confident. But in the spotlight of a semi-final, nothing can be taken for granted.

This match had all the hallmarks of a classic MLBB encounter, but ONIC delivered a decisive performance, overcoming Aurora Gaming PH with two straight wins in the series. From start to finish, ONIC controlled the tempo, dictated the engagements, and left no room for a comeback, asserting complete control throughout the match.

Jonard Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto from Aurora Gaming PH said: “Looking back at the series, it never really felt close from our side. It was like hitting a wall, everything felt difficult and we could not play the game as smoothly as we wanted. In the end, it came down to preparation and how well we were countered.”

Asked about their hopes and expectations for tomorrow’s final, ONIC’s Kairi Ygnacio “Kairi” Rayos Del Sol said: “It feels good to reach the finals, but we are not satisfied yet. We came into this tournament with the goal of winning it, and that mindset has not changed. Going into the match against Aurora Gaming, we believe in our preparation and ourselves, and we will give everything to come out with the win.”

With just one day remaining, the spotlight now turns to the final matches of the tournament. The MOBA Mobile. MLBB third-Place Play-Off will take place at 15:00 GST, followed by the Grand Final at 18:00 GST, where the MLBB champions at GOTF 2025 will be crowned.
